Reggio Emilia care in San Diego since 2023.

We believe children learn best when their education is self-directed and supported by strong relationships with caregivers. Our Reggio Emilia inspired curriculum includes a whole-child approach rooted in those relationships between children, parents and staff. Children ages two to five spend their days in a child-led, nature-based program.

Our four classrooms each have two core teachers with additional staff assisting during transitions. Because our playgrounds are an extension of the classroom, children spend much of their day moving between indoor spaces and the yard, where they dig, build and investigate the world around them. This is a place where children get dirty and learn through all their senses.

A visitor often notices how much time children spend outdoors, and how they help set the table or carry their own dishes. Another thing stands out: process art covers the walls, not finished samples, because making matters more than the product. You will see children engaged with nature and with each other, and teachers nearby who model and coach. Our license lets us serve children ages 24 months through pre-kindergarten.

Mornings can be gradual. A child might settle into a quiet corner with a book while the room fills. Teachers greet each family by name and help children find a first activity. A parent can stay a few minutes, then say goodbye.

The morning moves into play, small-group learning, and then outdoors. We spend four to five hours outside each day, so children bring layers and shoes that can get dirty. Meals are eaten together, with teachers sitting alongside. Afternoon rest or quiet time follows, then more play. Children help decide what to do with the long stretch of the day.

By afternoon the energy shifts. Children finish projects, help tidy, and gather for a story or song before pick-up. Parents hear about what their child did, not just how the day went. Teachers share a moment that mattered, a new word, a friendship forming, a tower that finally stood. The last child leaves at 5:30PM.
