Call (619) 287-6767 or email megan.porter@sagebrushcc.com. Tell us your child's age and the days you need. Megan Porter, our Director, will talk through what is open and what fits your week. From there, we set a time for you to come in.
Tour the room
Come see the classroom your child would join. You meet the teachers who run it and watch the room at work. Ask what you like. We will tell you honestly what the days look like for that age group.
Enroll and settle in
Complete enrollment and plan a first week that suits your child's routine. A registration fee secures the open spot. We talk through the first days, then adjust as your child settles.
What to have ready
Most families gather a few papers before the first day: enrollment forms, a health form and immunization record, emergency contacts, and the names of people allowed to pick up your child. Ask us for our list so nothing is missed.
Pack a full change of clothes, outdoor gear for the season, nap items if your child rests, and one comfort object from home. Label everything with your child's name. Children spend four to five hours outside each day here, so dress for the weather.
Before the first day, talk through the drop-off routine, decide who will pick up, and tell us how you want to hear about your child's day. A short goodbye works better than a long one. We will follow your lead.
The first weeks
The first days are often shorter. Your child may bring a familiar object from home. A teacher greets your child by name at the door. You can call us midday to check in.
At pickup, teachers tell you what your child did, ate, and rested. Most children settle within a few weeks. Some take longer, and that is fine. We will tell you how it is going.

Yes, a tour is how families decide. Your child comes along and can spend time in the room while you talk with the teachers.
What should my child bring on the first day?
Pack a full change of clothes, including socks and shoes, in a labelled bag. A comfort item from home helps at rest time. Label everything with your child's name, since items travel between rooms and hooks.

Teachers speak with you at pickup about the day and answer questions then. If you want more detail, ask, and they will walk you through it. Each of our four classes has two core teachers, with additional staff assisting during transitions.

Families can ask to be told when a place opens for their child's age. Call or email us with your child's age and the days you need, and we will keep you in mind.

Ask about hours, meals, pickups, and how the first weeks are handled. Ask how the day runs and what your child will do outside. Ask anything you want to understand before you enroll.
